When I was in school, all the chalkboards were black because they were made out of slate, and they were called blackboards. I didn’t see green “chalkboards” until the 60’s.
In “my day”, they were black and cold — actually made of slate. Then they became black and room temp — some kind of paint. the green morph came later. Do they even have them anymore?
… I before E, except after C, and when sounded like A, as in NEIGHBOR and WEIGH. FOREIGN, SEIZE, NEITHER, LEISURE, FORFEIT and HEIGHT are exceptions when spelled right. Actually, “right” should be “correctly”.
The advantage of English, is that it is rich in words borrowed from other languages. This gives it a very powerful vocabulary. It also means that spelling is close to arbitrary.

In your case Charlie Brown it’s I before E, except you’re screwed.

Uh-oh is right — but your word (which you’ll blow) won’t be one to which that rule even applies.

Guys, this version is different from the movie. It’s a lot better. Not gonna spoil it though.
