Actually, that’s pretty good — and it’s original, unlike “How much wood would a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood?” (Poor LX013 must go bonkers when she sees the way we torture English like this!)
It’s been 20, er, 30 years since I first read this, but I am pretty sure that this strip got me kicked out of the school library. Out and out uncontrolable laughter followed but the giggling tremors that never quite end. Poor librarians! It has me giggling today!
@LX013,Thank you for the response yesterday. Is Popeye the sailor man called glupschaugen in German since glupschaugen means popeyed? :o) (probably not)
Calvin is way too critical of himself. That was pretty good! Actually, considering his rhymes and songs are always good, he probably has a bright future as a singer/songwriter in the footsteps of Ray Stevens and Weird Al.
Calvin, you remind me of so many little boys who were in my classroom in years past. It is amazing how a panel or two from Bill Watterson can bring a smile and some sweet memories.
What could the Mongol hoards afford? A Ford? Some cord? A Norse fjord? A boat that’s moored? A drink just poured? A cheap Cook’s tour? Why, yes, M’Lord.

The Mongols were bored because they found a Viking hoard and got gored by a Nordic sword.
Sorry. I’ll go away now.
