Botanically speaking, flowers are the reproductive parts of a plant … you have flowers with only stamens and they are called “male” while ones with carpels are known as “female” …
Here in California’s high sierra, we have barely had winter and would LOVE several feet of your snow! It’s too warm for March and we are looking at a very long dry and hot spring and summer.
This strip is a mockery today for all of us who seem to experiencing the first day of WINTER not spring. More new snow last night! Will it ever end? I’ll have to remember this when the summer rolls around and I’m sweating from the humidity…
To put a scientific spin to Jon’s comment, some studies have actually proven that plants actually do have feelings and react when another one of them is destroyed or damaged. They actually “talk”, but they’re not on our wavelength. Conversely, those people whose talk to their plants might actually be helping them.
Down to 16 tonight in Detroit — spring — not!! I was calling for the heads of the groundhogs, but the one in Michigan apologized today, so I guess I’ll have to accept it.

Biology will ruin a lot of things for you …

So the bottom line: What are you smelling?
The plant equivalent of your crotch …
Makes it sounds so romantic, eh?
