Y’know, the way folks start mudslinging back and forth whenever some fool mentions something even remotely political, I don’t blame people for ignoring the comments most of the time.
I agree Red…I read and enjoy the comments on almost all the strips I read daily. I too am surprised at how often Annie is asked about. This is one of my favorite strips, and I’m enjoying “Lila, the younger years” :-)
I read the strip every day. However, I subscribe and get it in my email, where it’s mercifully free of comments. I happened to be curious about this today, and clicked on here to find out the answer, only to be flogged by the likes of you for not being such a devotee of a strip I find mildly amusing to come and read the blatherings of the brain-dead as well as the strip itself.
Hmm. Wonder why more people don’t read the comments.
I do pay for my membership here. The Meaning of Lila is one of my favorite strips (it reminds me a bit of Will & Grace). I hope some of my money is going to Forgetta & Rose.
I don’t remember Lila’s mother being grateful about Lila adopting Annie though… what was the reaction there (if any)?
I pay for my subscription here, so I hope that the artists get a tiny little slice of that. But I like the reruns, since most of this strip happened before I was lucky enough to stumble upon it. I’m looking forward to the first meeing with Annie!
I do not make a habit of reading the comments on every comic I read. I have a life that includes many interests in addition to my love of comic strips. It is just too time consuming to read them all. My god, there are well over 100 comments on some of my favourites. I have a select few where I scan through the comments regularly, and only look at others when something in the strip draws me to see what has been mentioned. This strip happens to be one of my regular comment reads, or I might also be asking “Where’s Annie?”
Ya know, here’s the thing. The posted date on the strip is today’s date. Those of us who have not been with Lila from the beginning and who do not regularly read the comments have a legitimate question in asking about Annie and about wondering if these strips are reruns. I read over a hundred strips a day and Annie’s absence has not been noticed by me until Lila’s mother’s question. So please do not rag on those of us who are – apparently – far less astute than than you are.

Wait, didn’t she already adopt? Or is this an old rerun?

I was about to ask the same thing. The artists must be on vacation…..or the strip stopped.

And this IS a rerun, AFAIK.

But Lila isn’t dating anyone? ;-)

I agree. Sigh…“I’ve decided that you should adopt.” LOL!!

Setting that aside for a minute, since these strips pre-date me even knowing Lila existed, how far back was this before Lila met Annie?

Because everyone should drop everything to read all the comments to a comic strip each and every day? What, they’re not? Outrageous!

There was a Brit movie about that called “Prudence and the Pill”, in which aspirin was subbed for several women’s BCPs.

I just come here to read the comics — I rarely bother with the comments unless I have a specific question. But thanks, Redkaycei, for answering.
