I got your e-mail, eldo. I won’t put it in the comments section..Remember, we might not be able to change the circumstances but we can change how we react to them.
Thank you, dear lady ! That was a year ago September..That was a good address to eldo. Having got into mental health, the hard way, I see signs that portend a bad future. On t’other hand, if he’s just bein’ a cagey, wild and crazy kinda guy…. what’s the purpose and how long will this train of thought go on ?
I remember you saying it was in September but I didn’t really want to bring it up on that day as I was scared it would be too personal and you might have been a little ‘creeped out’ with me just broadcasting it abruptly.
I hope you get what I’m trying to say.
And John Pike is right… None of Eldo’s comments are there anymore.
Hullo all — I don’t post here much, but as we’re (mostly) all concerned about our friend Eldo, I wanted to say….
As x_Tech pointed out, Eldo’s comments have been blocked by GoComics….that is what they refer to as banning.
Sometimes moderators do it; sometimes it means the comments were flagged multiple times.GoComics has thousands of unseen members, many even paid, who never comment, so even if a person’s friends don’t flag him, many strangers might.
You can look at his profile HERE and see that he’s still commenting.
When you’re banned you can still read your own comments in the forums, so at first you may not believe that others can’t.
ELDO, my friend…PLEASE PLEASE please realise that you need help, and get some.
For me, for Linda, for all who care about you….
Call a friend or a relative, go to an emergency room, go to a police station…Someone will help you…You are on a bad path! You’ve been there before and you came back…please find your way again.
I don’t know what Eldo’s problems are, though I can kind of guess. I have been reading him for a long time, and we have even commented back and forth. The Eldo I saw is not this person, and I do not believe for one minute he is putting this on, or trying deliberately to do this. I hope he finds help from somewhere soon. He seems like a highly intelligent caring soul. It’s a shame. I feel sad for him. I hope someone will be there for him.
Tell me something, if one of you would please? Do any of you understand some of the comments like it’s in code or something?
Please, if you’re reading these comments, please recognize that you need to stop and get some help now. Right now, you might be feeling great, but at some point your body is going to insist on crashing.
Now is the time to get some help and some much needed rest.
Gweedo if you had a Vega for 14 1/2 years you did REAL WELL, my Man! And I hear ya’ about the snow, my Gremlin did well in the snow, as did our ORIGINAL VW Beetles, 2 of them! We would pass people stuck by the roadside in those little bugs! Guess that was because they had all the weight in the back! Why, oh why, did they stop making them? Of course, these days, with all the BIG tractor trailers, they wouldn’t be that safe, would they?
I owned five Beetles. Also, my ex wife had a Michigan Gremlin and then a Datsun(remember that name?) B210. She and I also had a ’76 Vega. It had the “IronDuke” engine. Probably still running somewhere. I used to fill my first Beetle up from empty for $3.00. I would then run 300 miles. Only thing about the beetles, they were useless on the interstate. The Gremlin had iron foil for body panels and lead gears and gearshafts. Sorry!!! The B210 had a decent engine but slow. Lousy electrical. My ’07 Malibu is probably the best car I have ever owned. I fully expect it to ge 300,000 miles at an average of 27 mpg mixed driving.
So, Mikey, what is your take on the cars that resulted from the Fiat-Chrysler marriage ?^^Chrysler has been off my radar for years, A Dodge Omni that almost bankrupted my Dad in 6 months , most of which was spent in the shop and a Reliant K car (my company car, at the time) that self-destructed in 50000 miles pretty much put me off ANYTHING Chrysler 30 years ago
And with that, I will say goodnight and I hope everyone here has a safe, peaceful lovely night, or day, depending on where they are, and that you ELDO especially, find calmness and rest and return to the Eldo some of us know casually and the Eldo that others here know better.
DON’T DO ANYTHING FOOLISH ELDO! MANY HERE CARE VERY MUCH ABOUT YOU THOUGH MOST OF US HAVE NEVER MET FACE TO FACE, WE HAVE DEVELOPED A FRIENDSHIP HERE ACROSS THESE GOCOMICS PAGES AND MANY MILES! YOU ARE A BIG PART OF THAT, MISTER!
Would that I still owned my ’67 Camero SS Convertable ! My first wife owned an early ’67 model that was a lemon ! We traded it for the later and better one shortly before we got married. As luck would have it, I got transferred to Europe and we wound up living in Ireland. I sold the car to my father-in-law, who kept it in immaculate condition and rarely drove it.Long after our divorce , he still owned it. Needless to say, that car had skyrocketed in value ! He got the car, I got his daughter. Guess who got the better deal ?

It’s Andy’s kind of place. Especially, with the cheap beer.

Cheap women, drunken fights and beer. Sounds like where I live.
Mikeyj almost 12 years ago
Apparently, Chalkie isn’t interested in Joining… Just as well, that would make one MORE place that Chalkie would have to carry Andy home from.
Mikeyj almost 12 years ago
I’d prefer cheap women, to cheap beer 9_9 (rolls eyes)

But if the club accepts Andy, he’ll give them the famous Groucho Marx line: “I wouldn’t join any club that would have me as a member”.

Now why doesn’t that surprise me?

Hi Gweedo! ;-)
pcolli almost 12 years ago
Eldo’s reply to me sounded a little more coherent today. Here’s hoping.
pcolli almost 12 years ago
Well, I hope Eldo comes back to us. Sometimes I feel not far from the verge.

I wonder if Andy’s French cousin (And Supermodel Andree) would be one of those cheap boozy women? (The daughter of Andy’s French Chef Cousin)

My goodness, yesterdays comment count went down to 53. This is so bizarre. I sure hope he snaps out of whatever this is.
