Cathy: What happened, Charlene? I was young...I was even sort of cute...I used up all my good years in this stupid office...now I'm old and past my prime, and NOW I have to look for a husband and father of my children?? NOW, when I'm wrinkled and flabby and set in my ways?? NOW I'M SUPPOSED TO FIND MY PRINCE CHARMING?? Charlene: Five more minutes of good skin tone just slipped away. Cathy: AACK!! Charlene: If I can't put her out of her misery, at least I can put myself out of mine.

Bwahahahaha!!! Good one, Charlene!! XDGood morning, Cathy clan! @legaleagle – I do NOT appreciate you deliberately misinterpreting my comment yesterday, so I responded. I will not stand by as you put inaccurate words in my mouth. If you want to create a fight, then go elsewhere. (I won’t be surprised if you want to continue what you said yesterday, but I will not discuss anything further with you. You obviously have anger issues that you need to resolve on your own.)

It’s never too late Cathy.
Even though I’m usually pretty quiet, I used to look to the “Cathy Clan” as my surrogate family. I loved to read the comments and see how everyone truly cared for everyone else. I don’t have a lot of that in my family so it was touching to read the comments, even if I didn’t make one myself. There seems to be a lot of animosity lately, I hope it gets fixed soon. Have a wonderful day everyone!

@lightenup and @legaleagle: All of us are victims of our past to some extent, but some more than others. As a result, sometimes we say things that offend others. One of the advantages of a forum like this is that we have the opportunity to think over what we have said and consider how others will take it before we post it. So, in theory, it should be easier for us to avoid offending others online than in face-to-face conversation. Unfortunately, in practice, what sometimes happens is that we are more likely to offend others online because of the anonymity, and because others can’t see our facial expressions or body language. Whether online or in person, human communication is imperfect.

It’s only a comic strip, everyone. No need to take it personally. After all, you don’t have to read or comment on it, if you don’t like the subject matter.
Take a deep breath and relax.

@GretchensMom: Boy, I don’t know……. This Cathy group seems like a really tough crowd…… I think I’d better go back to Calvin and Hobbes where things are civil…….. (Just kidding.)I forgot to mention that if the Calvin and Hobbes strip is specifically about government / politics / the economy (like today’s), you should skip reading the comments that day.

And, yet another [eye-roll] should just about cover it.
Sheesh—wish I could stock up on those in bulk. Just sayin’.
HI, MOM. Hello, Clan.

@GretchensMom: I just looked back at your departure comment on Calvin and Hobbes, and it turns out that it was more definitive than I had remembered it.But, wait………… You said that you would stop reading the comments, but you didn’t say that you would stop writing comments! And………… Your comment was late in the day, so hardly anyone saw it!And………… Several of the posters who saw it told you not to leave!And……….. and…………….. !
