Mom: Why is our new phone beeping? Cathy: I don't know. Sometimes phones just do that, Mom. Mom: The dial tone quit. Cathy: Sometimes they just do that, too. Mom: Now it's blinking at me. Cathy: Don't indulge it. Don't even try to understand. When it acts up, just put it down and let it rest awhile. It will be fine again later! Mom: My generation owns phones. Her generation parents them.

Cold here in Michigan, but walkable. Now the phone goes to bed with its owner…:)

If it’s all charged up and ready to go but there’s no dial tone, it’s blinking and making strange beeping noises for absolutely no reason at all that anyone can figure out, then maybe it’s defective and should be returned/exchanged. If Mom isn’t careful, Cathy’s dumb advice to “just let it rest awhile” may actually cause the extremely small window of time she’s got to permanently slam shut and then she’ll be stuck with a phone that doesn’t work, can’t be used and to make matters worse, can’t be returned. Cathy and her mom are definitely two weird and stubborn peas in a pod when it comes to their way of thinking and doing things, that’s for sure!

Hey—as long as the phone will do what I need/want, I’m happy.

No need to charge an old fashioned copper wire phone with no dodads! Plug it in and it works – 20 years or more, no matter what the weather. Great to use to call the electric co and tell them no electricity.
