A “hot sync cradle”? I know it was used with PDAs at the time, but now it just sounds funny. LOLGood morning, Cathy clan! Hope you all are staying warm today. We just have snow flurries floating around the air… feels like I’m in a snow globe!

Sadly, I actually had my husband get me a new camera with virtually no options for exactly this reason.

Next to my mom, I’m one of the least technological people I know. When it comes to things like cameras, computers and cellphones, all I care about is: how do I turn it on, get it to do whatever I specifically need it to do, and then [with the exception of the phone] turn it off again so it doesn’t use up all its battery power when I’m not using it. Any other features are pretty much useless to me and will only cause me great angst that, by attempting to use them, I’m going to severely screw something up so bad that it can’t be corrected — EVER. Deep down, I’m sure that’s probably not really true but still, that’s how I feel so I don’t mess with any of those other things . . . just in case!!!

    Hi, rgcviper!

lightenup: I know what you mean about that “snowglobe” feeling. I had that exact same thing last night as we watched the snow swirling here starting around 8:30 p.m. or so. We cut our weekly visit to my mom’s house short because we were worried that the snow, along with quickly falling temperatures, would cause the streets to become too dangerous to drive on if we waited any longer to leave. Thankfully we made it home safely and those obnoxious predictions of a huge snowfall overnight turned out to be a lot less dire than expected — we only got a slight dustcover instead. Woo-hoo!!!!! [B/t/w: While the current high is only a bitterly-cold 1°, at least it’s not snowing too!]

Hello and Happy Monday, fellow “Cathy” fans.

It was a snow globe here all night and half the day today. Not much actually fell – only 2 or 3 inches – but the wind was blowing all the snow from the North Pole into my driveway. Shoveled out the same drift 3 times today – twice after it actually stopped snowing! Wind chill made it feel like -35C (-31F). Thought that was cold until I heard that Winnipeg had wind chill of -45C (and at that temperature it does not matter what scale you use – too cold to stay outside). Still, I do like the winter and got a lot of good, healthy exercise pushing the snow around.

Glad my dumb phone does not have to sync with anything!

We got about 15 inches and the temp forecast has been revised upward to only 10 below 0 tonight with 22 mph winds. My hubby insisted on going out to run the cars, but he was thawing his feet when last seen. Not a pleasant day or night.

Ahh … technology overload. Unfortunately, I know the feeling.

However, at least I usually know just enough in order to do what I need and want to do. Keyword being “usually” …

HI, MOM. Hope you’re staying warm, “Cathy” Clan.
