Man: Nothing says "I love you" like the new 73-function digital uniqu296x! Cathy: Great! I'd like the five-day full replacement warranty with that! Man: Excuse me? Cathy: A written guarantee that my special someone won't run out and get it for himself in the next five days. Man: Ahem...um... Cathy: Or, if he does, you'll replace him with a nice new sweetheart who doesn't buy everything he wants the week before Valentine's Day! Man: Yes, well... Cathy: How about a four-day warranty?...Three-day?... Man: Ahem, well... Cathy: Can you at least promise that while I'm here he isn't lying on the couch with his laptop ordering the upgraded version that just made my gift OBSOLETE?? Can I even get a TWO-SECOND warranty??!! Man: Sorry. Cathy: Oh, for crying out loud. Blonde man: Women and their romantic fantasies...

My husband has done this I don’t know how many times. And he’s still alive!

We don’t buy gifts for V Day, but we do have an agreement that in the months of our birthdays and December we don’t buy ourselves ANYTHING personal. It just goes on the list. If after the birthday or Christmas we still don’t have the thing we want, then we can go get it.

My first thought today was an [eye-roll]. However, Cathy does kinda have a point.

I’m assuming that Cathy is looking to buy Irving a gift for Valentine’s Day since I don’t know of any other guy she’s seeing right now. And what do you know?!? Unlike yesterday where the male co-worker supposedly wanted ideas for a gift for his S.O. that was really for HIMSELF instead, Cathy is trying to pick out the perfect gift for the man in her life that is actually for HIM instead of herself. Even though she’s being a little crazy about the “five-day full replacement warranty” part, I’m still proud of her. After all, everyone here knows how big a shopaholic she is and how she, with the best of intentions, could have started out looking for a gift for him but somehow wound up with a bunch of stuff for herself instead. Her willpower today has been extremely impressive to me . . . so far!!!!! ;-)
Hi, rgcviper!

My oldest son wanted to get me a Keurig coffee maker for Christmas and my bday present (my bday’s in January) but my younger son bought me a French press coffee maker in time for Christmas. Then my oldest wanted to get me a NuWave oven but I bought one myself after Christmas. He finally took me to dinner last week and bought me a new slow cooker yesterday.
Hi “Cathy” Clan!
