Mom: Item #1: The bride, groom and both sets of parents will submit their guest lists. With a little thought, there's no reason our family has to sink to the petty squabbling over this that so many families do. For instance: Cathy: You already have 345 people on your list! No Fair! Mom: Why sink to petty squabbling when you can start there in the first place? Dad: A time-saver!

Who knows 345 people in the first place?

Sounds like she’s inviting random strangers she meets in the grocery store. With a family like mine, it is easy for numbers to get out of control. Both of my natural parents had 7 siblings and most of those siblings had children, and many of them had children. Plus I have an extra side because I was raised by my father’s sister and her husband – making my uncle’s family close family also. That makes for a huge wedding without even adding the groom’s family.
Hello Cathy friends! Looks like everyone’s having a busy Tuesday!

And then there are the visiting friends from Australia who are staying with the soon-to-be inlaws at the time of the wedding and simply must be invited.
