Mom: Attention, wedding party: Our guest list has now hit 1,079, and I'm declaring a family-wide ban on making new friends! No eye contact! No pleasantries! No business card exchanges! No new friends whatsoever...and do your best to dump at least four old friends per week until the day invitations have to go out! Cathy: You need professional help, Mom. Mom: From whom? Maybe he'd like to come to the wedding!

So instead of paring down the guest list to a reasonable number, she’s going to ban other people of making friends and otherwise being sociable human beings? And other people need to dump old friends? The first “friend” I’d dump is her!
Yes, she needs professional help. I understand being excited for your only child’s wedding, but she’s lost all sanity..Hello Cathy clan! It was a major victory this morning getting the 2 mama cats in carriers and to the vet, but they will get spayed and tested for diseases. Hopefully they’ll be back outside soon. Tired…

Make a new list. Put all of the immediate family members on it (parents, siblings, and grandparents only). More distant family members can be included only if they are also personally close to the bride or groom. Next, add anyone from the original list who the bride or groom claims to have a close personal connection to AND has socialized with in the last year. Do not include anyone who has never met either the bride or the groom. My bet is that the new list would be at least 2/3 smaller than the original list.

Now the number has risen from 1,067 people to 1,079. Looks like the waitress and her “extended family” accepted the impromptu invite to the wedding of complete strangers after all!!!!! ;-)
Meanwhile . . . Cathy’s right, Mom: Seek help. NOW!Irving? Run!!! Run like the wind — NOW — before it’s too late!!!!!

lightenup: Bless you, Girlfriend, for your kindness to these two cats in such need of it. Are they completely feral or will they be going to new homes soon? Try to get some rest because you’re going to need it for your upcoming trip home to the U.S. When in July will that be? I know your mother will be very excited and happy to see you! :-)
janinabarnes: The perfect solution to a problem that NEVER should have happened to begin with. Cathy and Irving need to fire her mother and hire you to be their new wedding coordinator. You’d have them all whipped into shape budget-wise in no time!!!!! ;-)
