Cathy: I was young and foolish. I ate a cheeseburger. Then I said "no" to fat and ate only the bun. I said "no" to carbs and ate only the meat. I said "no" to meat and ate only the cheese. I said "no" to dairy and ate only the lettuce and tomato. I said "no" to non-organic vegetables and ate only the toasted sesame seeds. ....And then I said "no" to media-induced food hysteria! "no" to nutrition-depleting, craving-inducing extremes! I reinstated some fat...some carbs...some meat....some dairy....some veggies ...and ta da! I am old and wise. I will eat a cheeseburger! The Sunday May 22, 2005, 6:00-6:45 PM edition The new "fast" food: six minutes to prepare the food. Six years to prepare the brain.

I’ve probably gone through some of those "no"s, but now I mostly eat pretty healthy, while occasionally eating a splurge like a burger. Or if I make a burger at home, it will be with bison meat or grass-fed beef, which is healthier, and we don’t have the bun..Hello Cathy friends! Happy Sunday!Happy belated Birthday to QuietStorm’s mini-me!!! I hope she had a special day yesterday! (And a hug to QuietStorm from me, who sympathizes with your feelings of time going quickly :-))

Todays strip is perfect! The Do and Don’t Eat List is constantly changing. I’ve decided to go with moderation in all things.

HI, MOM. Good Sunday Morning, “Cathy” Clan.

It’s definitely best to eat a healthy, balanced diet with an occasional splurge. I tried the Atkins or South Beach diet once…it worked until it didn’t.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Sunday! Thank you to everyone who expressed beautiful birthday wishes to my mini-me from both of us! Love the card Mom and thanks for the hug lightenup, I needed that!
It was just a small celebration with cake and ice cream yesterday with family and her best friend. We’re having a larger combined celebration week after next to include my youngest son whose birthday is June 1st.

What a coincidence! My husband grilled hamburgers for dinner just last night and while he forgot to bring home lettuce from the store, we still had a tomato, onion and cheese to go on it though. When you get a chance to eat a hamburger that good, there’s no time to think about how this big, calorie-laden splurge is wrecking your perpetual, never-ending diet. Nope. That’s when you simply have to put it out of your mind by channeling your inner Scarlett O’Hara and say to yourself: “I’ll think about that tomorrow. After all, tomorrow IS another day!” ;-)
Hi, rgcviper! :-)
QuietStorm27: Sounds like your daughter had a really nice birthday yesterday. Glad you both enjoyed the card! :-)P.S.: How old will your youngest son be on June 1st?
Hello and Happy Sunday, fellow Cathy fans. Hope everyonehad a really great weekend! :-)

The nice thing about WW is that you can have whatever you want…you just have to keep track. Mostly I eat pretty healthy but I have a handful of slightly lower cal potato chips most days and lately we’ve been eating gelato for desert which is also lower cal.
