Transcript:
Cathy: I'm not putting an "AB" machine in a yard sale until my stomach's flatter! Irving: You're going to start using it again?? Cathy: No. But I don't want people looking at it and then looking at me and thinking about how much I must have thought I would use it! Irving: No one's going to look at your stomach, Cathy. Cathy: I don't care if they see my stomach. I don't want people to see my hope.

I have found that the only way any machine or gadget I buy helps me lose weight is if I purchase the human Drill Instructor option. That will do it.

Cathy could say, it belongs to my MIL.

Have you seen that machine that vibrates the heck out of you, shown on TV now? Reminds me of those old, hip belt vibraters from days gone by, that supposedly toned up the muscles.. My MIL had one in a spare bedroom in the 60’s.

Honestly, I think most people will understand that people bought an exercise machine and didn’t use it. Until the quarantine, most exercise machines were used for clothes hangers. For me, I like some machines, but just can’t get into “exercise mode” at home, so I prefer to go to the gym. Plus, I don’t really want the expense of a machine or that it will take up space in my house. My house isn’t large enough to have an exercise room like my sister has.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Tuesday! Thanks for contacting Gocomics, rgcviper! That’s a bit disappointing to hear, but I understand that if Cathy Guisewite wanted things to go back to black-and-white, then they have to do what she wants. It just seems a little bare and boring without color. The strip is dated as it is, and now it just seems even more. I just now spotted “Cathy Commiserations” at the bottom though, and Cathy has a cap with 2020 on it with a face mask on, so I will go see what that’s about. Oh well, we’re just here to comment and enjoy the community anyway… Have a great day, all!

Interesting! Cathy Commiserations seems to be a one panel comic that Cathy G. started on March 15, and portrays the ups and downs of life in 2020. We can all comment on that too, and it will be more relatable than overshopping, I hope. Anyone interested? I will check there later today and comment. Could be interesting…

People like to get something used that is in good shape. Advertised it as: “Like new; only used once”

Thanks lightenup. I just read all of the Cathy Commiserations that were posted. Loved them.
I don’t mind the black and white strips at all. Guess it is from a childhood reading the daily comics. Only the Saturday (we did not have a paper on Sunday) comics that were in colour.

I actually bought a Nordic Track exerciser machine when they first came out. It was real wood, and beautiful. It took up a lot of room! It was fun to use, but hard on the joints. Tried to sell it: no takers. Tried to give it away: no takers. I donated it to our local fitness place. Place closed, and I don’t know what happened to it.

Seems to me that Cathy is overthinking things just a bit in panel 2 … Call it a gut feeling.
Sure thing, lightenup, regarding contacting GoComics. Bummer regarding the black and white, but at least the strips and our comment boards are still here. And thanks for the notice of new “Cathy” strips in the other series. Looks like fun!

Could have dragged my treadmill up from the basement after my foot surgery, but since it was what caused the original injury, I decided to wait until I could walk outside.
