One of my early jobs was scooping ice cream and I remember customers like this from over 40 years ago

I like several different flavors of ice cream but my favorite, by far, is the one we buy at Kroger. It’s their own brand called Kroger Deluxe and the flavor is “Chocolate Cherry Nut Truffle” ….. chocolate ice cream with little chunks of chocolate and nuts along with cherry-flavored swirls throughout. It’s really good for an ice cream that isn’t a big name-brand one like Breyers, Edy’s, Ben and Jerry’s, or Häagen-Dazs, etc., that you’ve always heard about. Just thinking of it makes me want a little bowl of it now but I’m going to wait and have some later on tonight for dessert instead. YUM! ;-)

Come to think of it, I haven’t gone out for ice cream in a shop for years. I really should sometime.

summerdog had to mention gelato! We do have one location here that sells gelato but it is on the other side of town (which used to be a separate town before amalgamation) and they have very limited hours. We have driven there a few times to find them closed. The best gelato I have tasted is at Frost Gelato in the San Tan Village in Gilbert AZ. They had those little tasting spoons too and I will admit I have tried a number of flavours – settling almost every time on the dark cherry. Too bad the annual conference had to go virtual this year so I won’t be able to get my annual gelato fix.

Love gelato too…the best I’ve ever had was in Hawaii…a little too far to go. I do like Breyer’s coffee with chocolate chips, and one we get from Whole Foods (I think it’s Alden’s or something like that) and it’s chocolate with chocolate chips.
