Exposed tummies, tops, finances, failures, affairs, and weights... In this tell-all, see-all Summer... ...There's only one thing we're universally passionate about keeping locked behind closed doors: The Junk in the Garage. Cathy: Don't open the garage door in daylight! The neighbors will see all the stuff we can't get rid of!!

I would lay odds that Cathy isn’t the only one who has junk in the garage. :-)

We need to clean out our garage, but at least we keep our cars in there. I don’t understand the people who have so much stuff that they can’t fit their cars in there. Cars are such an expensive and important investment that they should be taken better care of than a bunch of junk.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Monday! Have a great day, all!

Our cars are kept in the garage – but only in the winter. In the summer it is a work area for me since I need a large area to spread out my equipment indoors. I have improved though, it only takes me one day in the fall to rearrange everything to make room for the cars where, in my younger days, it used to take up to 3 days. Oh, last summer we kept my neighbour’s tractor in our garage since I was using it most of the summer. Junk no-one should see, not really but my wife says a lot of my stuff stored in the garage is junk.
I hope everyone had a great weekend and is having a good Monday.

We had three garage sales before my wife died. After she died I still had to borrow a flat-bed truck to haul another 1000 pounds to the dump.

We moved to our new house four years ago this coming August and the garage has been an absolute disaster area ever since then. Good thing we only have one car because we could just BARELY get it in there! If we had had a second one, we’d have had no choice but to park it in the driveway because there wouldn’t have been anywhere else to put it.
But this past March — as the last of our three “winter Covid projects” this year — my hus-band got it completely cleaned out of things he didn’t want and neatly organized everything else so that we can now find what we’re looking for and we’re no longer tripping over stuff whenever we’re out there. Of course, the biggest thing that helped the most was FINALLY getting my beautiful “indoor she-shed” finished so that a storage cabinet and somewhere around 35 boxes filled with my books and sewing supplies could be transferred from there, upstairs to their brand new “home”. They weren’t the complete cause of all the clutter, but getting them out of the way gave him a LOT more room to work in so that he could get the organization process started — including the building of his new workbench (which he really loves!). The garage is now so nice and roomy that we actually could put a second car in there if we wanted or needed to ….. and still have MORE than enough room to walk around in afterwards without running into, or falling over, anything! :-D

I guess we see where Cathy’s priorities lie … I’m sure most of us can relate to junk in the garage, though.
This one also reminds me, for some reason, of the irony of driving on the parkway and parking in the driveway.
