Irving: I don't want to spend another second of our vacation inside with our electronics! Let's go for a nice, long walk, honey! Cathy: I'd love to! Where? Irving: Anywhere! Let's explore! Cathy: Wonderful! Irving: Let's try this way...then that way...then... Man: The iPhone 4 connection kicks in around the first cove if you stand on the second big rock! Irving: Thanks! Cathy: AHAH!!

Like with the Pokemon Go craze, I guess it is good since it is getting him out of the hotel and walking around. Cathy just needs to play this game and tell him that the best connection is in a museum or store or wherever else she wants to go.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Wednesday! Our bedroom A/C died last night so send cool thoughts our way! Have a great day, all!

It seems like a while since I had to look for phone service. Now a days I look to avoid it.

I think it’s an absolute necessity to have a really good cellphone connection in the event of an emergency ….. no matter where you are. But I have the feeling Irving’s definition of an “emergency” is a whole lot different than MINE is!

I have seen this happen – people searching for a cell connection way out in the middle of nowhere. I will admit I was surprised on our tour of Scotland a few years ago that there was cell reception on top of a mountain on the Isle of Skye. Did not care as I was not carrying my cell phone that entire trip.
Sorry to hear about your AC lightenup and I hope it can be fixed or replaced real soon. I know how it feels. Our house AC has been intermittent for two weeks now. Fortunately our temps are a lot lower than yours most days. A new fan motor should be here in a couple of days. This has been a bad year for equipment for me – the replacement for the gas fireplace in the basement, which died in March, finally arrived last week but without the ceramic bricks and blower. Not worried since I do not need it for another month or so. Also my standby generator died last week. Tech was here yesterday and declared it toast. It should be under warrantee but since it was never certified by a Kohler tech it may not be. Hopefully I can get a replacement within a couple of weeks as I do not like being without standby power.

Can you get Generacs in Canada; I am looking into the ones that are plumbed and hard-wired; checking oil is all that is needed plus maintenance.I learned on Monday that plumbing parts have escalated! Fortunately my plumber goes for repairs first; 566 seemed high for parts but had new fixtures been needed it would have run 1800-2000. OY!

Yup: A good cell phone reception is important—to a point. When it reaches Whack-a-Doodle status like this, not so much. Ha.

I hope your AC gets fixed lightenup…I’ve been in the South in the summertime and it’s bad enough with AC…I can’t imagine being without it in July. We drove from Lancaster South Carolina to Columbia in 105 degree heat…ONCE.
