This is the first time I’ve commented on a strip so soon after it came out. lol. Tiffany is a b***h and probably always will be.

We didn’t get to know that much what Tiffany said – to get Luann this worked up…

Yikes! So Luann’s mom is one of them, huh? What is it that causes women to think they could’ve made friends with everyone back when they were in high school? It’s certainly not there when a reunion happens and Suzie-Q who pantsed her in gym class pops up!

The “kill with kindness” won’t work. It’ll just inflate Tiff’s ego more and, in Tiff’s mind, prove her accusation correct. What Luann needs to do is get the anti-bully squad Ox to help her.

Thanks all. I’ve been following Luann for several years, but usually am not on here unless there’s something I’m not “getting.” My other favorite comics are The Dinette Set and Pickles.

1. “Did You have someone like Tiffany in your life when you were my age?”

2 " Is that how you dealt with her?"

And if the answer to #2 is yes…

3. “Did it work?”

That should end THAT line of reasoning, real sweet quick.

I agree with Louanne. and Brdshtt. She should be choked on a noose. Sometimes it does take a good rough housing to straighten someone out. I been through it in high school too.

Even if I didn’t like Tiffany, that graphic drawing of teen violence would distress me anyway. Luann, you’re no saint, that’s for sure.

A long time ago, it was “Father Knows Best.” Now it’s acceptable that the father is utterly incompetent. I don’t believe either is real. I am a father of two women (they’re in their 30s, now). I never felt that I was in Frank’s place, and was actually the go-to parent for relationship advice.

Is this the be nice to the bully and he will be your friend fantasy speech?

Give it up, Mom. Even in an alternate universe where that is possible, Tiffany is not a person you want your daughter to be friends with.

With Ox I don’t think it matters. His anger at bullying is more important to him than his personal preference.

Alas, poor Tiffany. Very well done. Not a single word was spoken; and yet it says soo much.

Mom’s not being that smart here. Killing Tiffany with kindness will do nothing for Luann but stoke the fire. Tiff has no moral core, no sense of human decency to be awakened, no conscience to be pricked; it would only reinforce in Tiffany’s mind that Luann is weak meat to be slapped around. Luann needs to be a lot more grounded and centered in her own life; an honest discussion with Quill about what’s happening would probably elicit a response like “No worries, Yank, I’d rather date a dead wombat than a bogan like Tiffany.” At that point, she’d be free enough in her own mind to ignore Tiffany’s machinations.

Tiff and Luann are just rivals and have been for a long time. every so often they get into a fight and afterwards things calm down. they should just set up a time and go at it and thus vent all the pent up hostility. at least they fight one on one and skin on skin.

I few years ago, Tiffany was so hard hit by the consequences of one of her tricks that she was deserted by all her friends and weeping. It was a rather sympathetic twist. I forget the story line that led to that point: Maybe it was when Tiff tried to manipulate herself into the lead of the school play?
