I’m 4th in the line, so this is what happens when you stay up late! I’ve never made a snow angel, but with everything and anyting Burt does, I’m pretty sure thats not it. And then tracking it all indoors, for Joy to clean up, Hmmmm maybe not, knowing how she does housework, it’ll probably melt right there.
Whenever the ‘find it’ is a dunce cap, the only place to look is on Burt’s head.
After plopping down in the snow and waving his arms and legs a couple of times; Burl probably had to take a breather..Joyous Easter to all who celebrate..Ham’s in the oven, sausage and sauerkraut’s in the crockpot, kolachky and struedels are screaming “eat me first” and the beers are cold. Gonna be a good day!
And Easter is about the Resurrection, and rebirth. That IS why the baby animals (chicks and bunnies) are a good symbol. The only reason for the ham is because (as most farms originally cured their own) and it was a very time intensive process, it came out for very special occaisions, as did a young Spring lamb. Most people have learned that even such prolific animals as bunnies and chicks are not toys for children but many ideas from our past remain in some form.
I never did a whole lamb (and doubt that many are slaughtered) but have cooked quite a few suckling pigs. We even had a 3′×3′ oven in the back yard and had some neighborhood parties (4th of July) and (don’t know if Jesus would) but our many Jewish neighbors came to eat the crisp skinned little pig. The first one (shortly after I was married) was done in Cuba. I took photos of the bloody battle as my then husband and his friends chased it around the yard to kill it. I didn’t participate, but was not squeemish about the blood, and helped gut it and hang overnight above the bathtub, dousing it with fresh garlc and bitter citrus. Here in the states, one was just a special order with the butcher, and so are “bitter oranges” only used for meat prep.

Snow angels for Easter just doesn’t seem right….
Then again, Burl does almost nothing right anyway, so maybe this unseasonable weather doesn’t even faze him.
Happy Easter, everybody….happy chocolate bunnies, and jellybeans…. and happy thoughts of Spring.

Why is ham traditional at Easter ? Easter is about Jesus. Would Jesus have eaten ham??
Just saying….
