Community chest... Pay hospital $100. Wait! Don't pay out-of-pocket and thus learn to economize on healthcare! Allow the nanny state to coddle you! Once again, Adam Smith's invisible hand must intervene to squash such absurdities!!! But I will grab that c-note... Otherwise you'll undoubtedly blow it on some other socialist pipe dream like public schools or libraries!

And where is the teacher in all this to put an end to it?

Oh, that reminds me, I’ve got to take back a couple of over due utopian pipe dreams….
When I was little, when people said the word library, I thought they were saying “Lie Bury..”…..It’s not that far off….Libraries ARE still one of the best defenses against lies…..“Out of the mouths of babes..”

Yes, the European version has the new card about having the government confiscate ten percent of your savings. And not in Monopoly money.

Now that the smash fist stands for forceful intervention, it should get the c-note

In his rôle as ObamaCare spokesman, Jarvis wears devil’s horns. The Invisible Hand (here, not so invisible) pummels him into submission, and Sedgie the Consumer gets the C-note. Clearly, this must be classified as Speculative Fiction.

I call this the Soviet Pickle Fallacy. “Eef great Soviet Union deed not make peekles, dare vood be no peekles!” Just like there would be no schools or roads or libraries if the government did not provide them, once these and many other formerly private functions were taken over by one level or another of government.
This strip has been having great fun lampooning Adam Smith, but he was right.

I’d like to invite Sedgie to Canada. We live between the US “individualism” world and the European “Socialist” world. Quite frankly, it’s a good place to be (Of course, Sedgie would hate it… socialized medicine, etc.)

I love the devil horns on Jeeves, didn’t History Channel portray Obumma in a similar manner?

I’d be careful about the sarcasm. It could be interepreted as saying you think the Holocaust was a good thing. But you are right that Nazism was indeed socialist. As I often put it, the main difference between Nazism and Soviet Communism was the width of their leaders’ mustaches.

I try to stay ahead on my health (proactively) but I dumped my supplement above Medicare. It paid little else and nothing really wants to assist with nutritional supplements or the bit of care I might occaisionally need (podiatrist or chiro). At 75, I still like to wear 4" heels when I dress up for a party.

I believe the point so many people miss is not whether Obama’s health care plan is wrong or right – the real point is that at least he stood up and did something. Neither the Dems or the Reps managed to work up the guts to do anything.

I love it when Jarvis gets his arse kicked, its hysterical to see him humbly take it.

Maybe Sedgie’s (very visible) “invisible hand” could tackle the 71/2 foot-high “Obamacare Red-tape Tower”. (The tower comprises the new regulations. The Obamacare bill is in the chair.-

you are right Gweedo. Health care should NOT be limited to only those who have money. I am below poverty level on a fixed income. I am very thankful for both medicare and social security, and we all Know that in our working lives we pay into both of those -programs.Undocumented workers also pay into those, but will never see a cent from them. How many people realize that hearing aides are not paid for by the government or tax-payers.I expect there are members of the GOP who have never thought about disasters. So many people would become instantly poor if there was a tornado that ruins their house. A hurricane, a fire, a flood, a death of a loved one, or a car accident that left them crippled and without a car besides. People love to pick on the poor, including veterans, children, the elderly, and the disabled, forgetting to figure if they have enough to live the way they want when any of these disasters strike. Then over and above all that, so many people just don’t care what happens to other people, their fellow mankind. They can see a scrawny kid with a runny nose, who has trouble learning in school, and have no compassion, but a get that kid out of my street, my kids school instead of finding out he may only eat 1 meal a day, or like I heard the other day, “I’m not eating tonight, it’s my brothers turn to eat.” People learn to care about the others. This is what Jesus did. He fed the hungry, gave comfort to widows and orphans, and care for the sick.

Also Night Gaunt is right, they did kill communists and socialists. They were fascists. they had their 1 party system andd it was always right, according to them. And yes I do love the aspects of ours that could or are classified as our socialist benefits. like police, fire department, road upkeep, libraries and parks.
