It’s all syntax!
Ambiguous pronoun antecedents.
A few months ago I was engaged to be married to a girl who had a wooden leg.
Unfortunately, the night before the wedding we got into a vicious fight and broke it off!
This is why we take English classes, girls.
Oh… to the pound. :- (
I’d share this one with a friend but he might think I’m criticising his writing. Alas I hear this kind of thing in the local TV station’s written scripts read out over the air.
