“And if you’re claiming that you’re old, then that’s suggesting that I’m old, so shut up!

Catholic girls? I am Catholic and I remember fighting to get my ears pierced. Only Italian and Spanish girls whose parents were immigrants had pierced ears as children….mainstream girls all fought to get them pierced around age 13. And then, as rebellious teenagers, we got extra (ear) piercings at 17. My Dad was livid when he saw my extra (one) piercing in my ear! Now? These girls have 5 in each!

For goodness sake, it’s only holes thru the earlobes! Not body graffiti that costs more to remove than it does to put on!

I don’t mind the multi-piercings on the earlobes but I do mind the piercings of the tongues. I can’t imagine how they can eat and enjoy their food.

Catholic girls? I’m not a girl, but I’m a Catholic baby boomer, and don’t remember many pre-teen girls with pierced ears. The nuns in grade school did not allow the girls to wear any jewelry to school, except religious medals discretely tucked inside their blouses.
