Basketball—a bunch of tall men jumping a few short inches to stuff the ball and get everyone excited that they can actually do such a simple thing.Baseball—a pitcher taking forever in long-range conference with the catcher over what kind of pitch he will make.American football—a game that takes forever because of all the times out and huddles, with no true indication of when the game will end.Do you get the idea that I am not particularly impressed with any of them? I am marginally more interested in the true (international) football, AKA soccer, but I still would rather be watching other things on TV. The biggest advantage of Association Football is that you can more easily predict when a game will actually be over and you can get to the next program.
And yes, I do know that the third sport I mentioned above does not, by any stretch of the imagination, fall under the category of “round” ball, but on the general topic of which sports are interesting and which are boring, here is where I stand.
Gokie, you had a good teacher….But there is a problem with the language here….We’re going to have to make a decision…Which is easier, “His or Her”, or “Their”? Example.: A sign in Topinabee, MI, “Anyone that leaves trash on the beach, could lose their right to use the beach”….Put his/her in there and it looks stupid…
And just always using “his” as the pronoun seems kinda stupid too…
.I can’t believe I’m taking this position in this discussion, I’m usually a grammar nazi….

I’m with Janis. I dislike basketball immensely. I’ll be SO glad when the madness ends. How much longer is it, anyway?
I need to start proofreading.
