Girl: I don;t know what to draw. Miss Plainwell: Draw yourself. Girl: I can't draw anything that's supposed to look like something. Frazz: Draw your future driver's license photo. Girl: Ooh! Yeah!
Reminds me of Tim Conway’s story of having a friend take a polaroid picture of with his head wrapped in toilet paper…pasting the picture onto his driving license, then deliberately running a stop sign in front of a cop, while he (Conway) still had his head wrapped in toilet paper….
After cataract surgery, I had an unrestricted license for the first time in my life. But I still wear glasses when driving – or even while swimming – as I always have.
In Virginia you are not allowed to smile for your driver’s license picture. I guess they figure you won’t be smiling when you present it to the officer….
@DutchUncle:One of my greatest concerns about driving is that I passed the eye test and am not required to wear my glasses. How many others that can’t see are driving?
Years ago, I sneezed when I had my photo taken: camera caught me pre-sneeze with one eye scrunched and mouth half open (think Calvin on school picture day). The lady at the DMV wanted to retake the photo, but I insisted it be kept. The one time I did get pulled over (speeding), the cop was laughing so hard he just let me go with a warning. Unfortunately, I had to get a new one taken at the renewal and had to turn in the old one. I miss that picture.
Back when I lived in BC (the province, not the date), you could get a fairly decent pose and they would sit there until fatigue removed it, then trip the shutter!
I have this same problem. I can draw all sorts of things that don’t exist, from flesh-eating monsters to Martian rodent-men – but as soon as I try to draw something that does exist (such as a human being), it’s hideous.

I dunno… my driver’s license picture was terrible…and looked nothing like me.
Then for over 20 years, it kept getting more and more attractive…and of course, (cough) looking more and more like me…..
But a couple of years ago, they finally took a new picture of me …so now I have a terrible one again… that looks nothing like me.

I actually like my drivers license photo. Of course it’s from about 20 years ago…

My hubby always said that the photo was taken by someone who’d been taking prison photos previously.
