To me, it looks suspiciously like the topsiders have managed to tap into the communications for the city..And then managed to hack their way into controlling the ruling council.Doesn’t mean they could find the city… Just evesdrop on a leaking signal and backtrack it.(How does Endtown control the snooper robots that are posted for sentry duty? Or talk to the other survivor cities?)
I’ve been suspecting this for a while, but we’ll see.
That was the same voice that harassed Albert. ( I presume)and it was unfamiliar to Algod? ( also presume) But not to our weasel? Off we go. It is going to be a bumpy ride people.Blessed Be
Technical note, Radio and TV must be closed circuit. If OTA broadcast, Topsiders would surely have the technology to intercept and locate the source of the signals. I wonder if the High Council also controls these information channels. The press appears to be pretty independent, but can we say the same for the other types of media? The fact that the HC can interrupt a program at will does not bode well for unbiased communication. That means the newspaper is about the only non HC controlled means of disseminating information to the residents of Endtown. Also, we have evidence that other mutant colonies are able to communicate with Endtown. There must be elaborate infrastructure in existence to allow for such. I know, I’m probably bringing up things here that are too techie, but I am curious.
Okay, guys, here’s the plan. We drug Allgood. We kidnap him and take him to a cheap motel. There, we strip him down to his underwear, and we photograph him drinking a bacon smoothie.
It’s hard to believe that Velda is as stupid as all that. I wonder if she has had a grudge against Algood for something that happened in their past and is planning to set him up as well as the others. She is using him for some purpose of her own which he can’t, or won’t, see.
Wait, they have a TV station in Endtown? Is it CC TV, or are they actively broadcasting? I mean, the same goes for the radio too. You would think the Topsiders would be able to pick up stuff like that, unless Endtown is a uber-massive Faraday Cage.
My thinking exactly. Maybe its my experience with post apocalyptic science fiction, but certain folks in Endtown seem to be fairly careless with what I would consider to be scarace resources, like ammunition, doors and bottles of liquor.
Obviously Allgood has no idea who is on the Council. Velda and (I suspect) those behind her know. Allgood is going to take such a fall IF this falls apart. So much for the Week like the Rats informed the “condemned”.Did not some one post “verdict now trial later”.I wonder if there is a Roberts Rule of Order in Endtown? This of course governs how to hold “civil” meetings. Courts would have rules and order such as our Code of Criminal Procedure which lays out how courts will operate and definitions and range of punishment on crimes.I cant wait to hear the court’s definition of “Deviancy”This would have to prove first there is a single accepted behavior “AUTHORIZED” and “LEGAL” and that the accused with intentional, knowingly, willful, and/or with criminal intent DEVIATED from said norm.In other words first they have to define accepted behavior and prove the defendants deviated from that. So as the defense I would use the fact there is no definition of what is the normal behavior on the books. (As Allgood said he wanted to get this on the books to begin with which was the reason for this.) So what “LAW” have they violated. NOW if the Council defines the normal behavior which is what Allgood is trying to get done you still cannot prosecute because it was not “defined” prior to the accused breaking the norm. NOW they could be tried if they did it again but you cannot make a law then go back and charge everyone who did the action now declared to be illegal.BUT this is ENDTOWN. The Council has probably picked the entire court so something else has got to break. I still put some money on the Rats doing something. And I agree what a waste. That good liquor on the wall much less that shattered hand cut decanter from a better vanished time. When all this over Allgood is going to look funny standing there with Velda holding his POLLS!!Be out most of the day. Firearms training. We are going to play “Security Rats” We got an old car and everything to shoot up.
okay…who will come to save the day? A new character Or will we find out that Linda was a lawyer in a past life and can defend them all??? Tune in for the conclusion of “as the milk sours”……….
The Council is rather over the top. I’m starting to wonder if they aren’t actually opposed to the whole thing, and running the extreme opposite to sway public opinion.

I hope the trial will be more balanced than the trial of al and Gustine, which was a farce!

They’re probably taking cues from the 9th Circus… I mean 9th Circuit Court Of Appeals in San Francisco.

Beautiful drawing of a 1960’s radio, Mister Neathery. Beautiful linework and perspective.

Since everyone deviates from everyone else, everyone should be on trial. And will be, if the HC has its way.

Maybe someone mentioned this already, but since we saw Al on the “outside”, it means the council members should have rotated. Obviously they haven’t..
