Hubby also hoards computer parts. I’m into miniatures, and save colored creamer cups (trash cans, lamp shades, dishes), toothpaste tops (vases), restaurant jelly containers (kitchen sinks). All the bits and pieces are small, but they DO that up a lot of space.
Tony, I also collect these “comic collections” of various strips on this site, print them out and put them in document protectors and 3 ring binders. Trouble is, now I keep printing them out, but they are all sitting in a pile on the desk waiting to be put into binders. Same way with a lot of family photos. I started out with good intentions and got lazy!
I’ve never watched hoarders and don’t really hoard anything. The closest I come is craft books but I use them all the time. I don’t like a lot of clutter.
I am currently saving all my Art Jewelry mags, but allowed the subscription to expire. I seldom do any projects even with a bench full of machines and tools. Need to put together a class to do stuff with others, but currently prefer leatherwork to metal as I have more raw material already and hand made shoes are SOO comfortable. I still have a pasta machine (for plain flat) not yet used and a cavatelli machine I won’t use until doctor allows gluten again. I’d rather buy quinoa fusilli ready made ;-P
That’s two strips today that made a joke referencing Hoarders. (Zack Hill is the other) I often see the same joke show up in more than one strip and wonder if the cartoonists actually copy ideas from one another.
Well, I sort of collect bird related art but my entire house is decorated with it and not just birds, but other winged creatures. Kitchen cabinet tops include a Pegasus and fighting cocks. My backyard chairs are 3 different styles of butterflys, cranes and swans in the front yard – and it is always changing, depending on how well things weather where they are planted. I still don’t think I’m a hoarder (just an eccentric artist with my own style).
Paperwork! I don’t know why, but I haven’t filed anything other than a few important papers in the 20 years my hubby and I have been together. I have an office filled with boxes of stuff that I keep meaning to go through. That is my dirty little secret so shhhhh!

Well, after I started commenting on this site, I have several unread newspapers stacking up.

The problem with watching Hoarders is that once you’ve seen one or two episodes the rest are just “re-runs.”

I HAVE used the cavatelli machine at least 3 times and have some (made w/whole wheat, ricotta and basil) frozen.

My brother was a hoarder and it was no joke when he died at age 55 and I had to clean out his home.
We were estranged for more than 25 years at his request and what a freaking mess it was to deal with.
These people are mentally ill. Give em a break folks.
