After reading many posts on this and other strips, I’ve come to the conclusion that the best comic message board are the ones associated with Brooke McEldowney’s strips. Go to Pibgorn or 9 Chickweed Lane and you’ll see what I mean.

@Clark Kent. When the only way ObamaCare could pass constitutional muster was to have it declared a tax, the honorable thing to do would have been to scrap it and try to gets Congress, and the American public, to accept it as a tax hike. You didn’t see Obama or any other Democrat consider such an “honorable” course of action.

If Katrina happened on Obama’s watch, Option 3 would be to ask not to be bothered till after his 18 holes were finished.

The Posse Comitatus Act prevents the President from sending troops in unless the Governor of the state in question asks for help. The reason Katrina went so badly was a trifecta of storm damage (major damage to bridges and railroads), bad decisions of Mayor (delaying the evacuation), and ineffective communication from the Governor (failed to get the aid request to the White House in a timely manner). President Bush was presented with the idea of invoking the “Insurrection Act” which would have allowed him to send in troops but Democrats felt that the President would have been taking advantage of the situation to embarrass a Democratic mayor and a Democratic Governor. The last time the Insurrection Act was invoked was in 1992 for the “Rodney King Riots”.

Agree, during Sandy the local and state government were proactive and did their jobplus the people took care of themselves and their neighbors. In New Orleans not so much or more precisely not at all.

Being from New Orleans, and my house was flooded thanks to the levee breaks/Corps of Engineers/thank you very much.Bush was very much a hero of the “let the poor blacks drown” crowd, aka Republicans who own America. Obama is Bush with darker skin. Obama and his drones/Romneycare

there you go, neither Bush nor Obama are any good, lol

Option 3, resign, that would have been the honorable thing to do. It should never have been (cheney’s puppet) president to begin with. The scotus appointed those scoundrels

And put Cheney in the Oval Office?

I think you miss the subtlety of the Bush-Cheney charade. Yes, Cheney was the de facto C-in-C anyway but the set-up was in the Bush family tradition of presidential term insurance: "if I go then this far less desirable person takes over.’ Just like when Bush41 picked Dan Quayle for the veep spot.

I think it’s much more accurate to say that of you. Sandra Day O’Connor just said it was a mistake for the Supreme Court to put Bush in office – but they did. Usurper indeed. And, speaking as one who lives in the sandy-affected area, the federal government has been tremendous compared to its utter non-action in the aftermath of Katrina. The Republican governor of New Jersey himself recently said that the president kept every promise he made in providing help for the area, and that he was happy with the federal effort. So, continue your lies if you wish.

Federal troops had to come to LA for the “Rodney King Riots” because the police force(namely LAPD) were ordered to stay in their precincts by the chief. That was their way of showing the city what could happen if their cops couldn’t beat down male negroes and other undesirables(note the sarcasm). The riot wasn’t a result of the beatings at all. It was a result of the court not jailing(and firing all 23 officers involved) That would have sent a message loud and clear. Our police force costs us plenty here, policepersons make a good living, but the budget for the remuneration of the beating of the victims of these beatings is almost 100 million a year.

It is the same plan President Obama has. Blame President Bush so no one notices how bad everything is with his lack of leadership on everything. WSJ had a great editorial yesterday over that subject.

This is all very amusing, but on SOTU (State of the Union), our Trolls usually had sock-puppets (alternate accounts) and would occasionally change their names so they could agree with themselves.

During Katrina, people who already had more personal resources like transportation, emergency food supplies, back up generators, etc. had a much better time of it & needed less help. New Orleans residents helped one another as much as they could, but most were working with a lot less in the first place. Most of the tales of riots, looting & crime were false.

I see you are sticking to your lie about what it takes to understand Natural Born Citizen. Read this: http://www.scribd.com/doc/79112841/AMICUS-BRIEF-by-Leo-Donofrio-in-Georgia-Presidential-Eligibility-CaseWong is simple a smoke screen by the left to confuse people. Wong has ZERO bearing on Natural Born Citizen. Native and Natural Born are not equal or interchangeable terms.Native means born here and nothing more.Natural Born means born having parents that are both American Citizens.I guess that is too simple for you to understand."

You are a birther!! And here I was hoping you could not possibly be this stupid… LMFAO

I guess the three embassy attacks that killed several US citizens during Bush’s watch were somehow different than Benghazi, eh? It’s also funny to hear the new canard that somehow, the Nazi’s were left wingers, when from the time of their inception until about 10 years ago, they were right wingers. But I guess rewriting history is another way that right wingers ensure the “facts” are on their side. Anyway, thanks for the laughs Guard SGT, it’s always a hoot to read your crazy ravings (even it you may not actually be crazy). For what it’s worth, I find Obama to be generally worse than Bush……..which is quite and achievement seeing as how Bush was the worst US President in my lifetime (or any other, for that matter). Of course, Bush started the authoritarian, freedom smashing ball rolling, and Obama just got it going a bit faster.

Who here knows what Posse Comitatus is? Does anyone besides me know that a president can’t send in federal troops until the state executive declares an emergency and asks for it?

The Neo-Socialist hate for Bush 43 is comical though since he is essentially one of them.

GuardSgt and the rest of his side are really behind the times. And so is the left here. What about this lady in the news who claims our children are not our own. Are we headed to a point where children will be raised in a government run creche? I know this sounds a little crazy, but the arguments here are getting tired and worn out. There are a lot more things happening that are dividing us as a people. No one talks about the real issues that are facing us. The government gives us red herrings to fightover while they cut unemployment benefits and social security benefits. While they still shove the mentally ill aside and hope they will stay on their meds. Noone is trying to change the fact that the USA has more inmates per capita than any other western country. We really don’t know about others because of them being somewhat unfriendly to us. The government makes a big deal out of things that should be non-issues in order to keep us divided. We, the People, need to get beyond all of this. We, the People, have to take the government back and make it accountable to us. And we need to do it soon.
