Okay, Teddy Roosevelt, Ted Nugent, someone, and Ted Kaczynski (aka Unabomber). So who’s the third one with the socks logo on his jacket?

The last thing I want to hear is something coming out of “the Nuge’s” mouth.

I only recognized Roosevelt and Danson (being a Cheers fan) and Sox logo?? my eyes aren’t that sharp (has to be Boston Red Sox (because the Sox are Chicago, where I used to live) but Cheers was in Boston.

Rather reminds me of that old show that Ernie Kovacs had with disparate people from history had conversations. But HE chose INTERESTING people!

Fun fact: Teddy Roosevelt actually got a voice credit on “The Simpsons”. They used some archival recordings he made in an episode where Bart was researching ol’ TR for school.

But if they could reincarnate Teddy Roosevelt, surely they could bring back The Splendid Splinter…

Oh, I was thinking it was the original Teddy Bear (named after Roosevelt after his hunting party rescued an orphaned bear cub). I wasn’t thinking of Teddy Ruxpin. (I never had a Teddy Ruxpin but I did have a tradtional Teddy Bear. Well, with MY imagination he wasn’t traditional…….he had a vending machine in his chest!)

The “Mouth of the South” is missing for a reason – nobody else could get a word in edgewise.

Thank you for the suggestion. I’ve added it to my Kindle wish list but am concerned about the polarity of reviews. Guess I will have to read it for myself and make up my own mind, as I do with all controversial topics. :-)

Redkaycei RepocI recently read the book “Mark Twain and the Colonel” by Philip McFarland, about the pro-imperial Teddy and the anti-imperial Mark. (Of course, that’s overly simplifying them both……….) I’d think you might enjoy reading it.

DAZZ: Steve Allen had the Meeting of Minds, the first one being totally direct quotes from Aristotle, Machiavelli, Montaigne, Dostoveski, and Darrow, discussing capital punishment. The later PBS series only paraphrased the “guests”. Kovacs was a pioneer in using TV camera special effects for comedy in his many short sketches, and the infamous Nairobi Trio.

Bri – that’s what I said (but being from Chicago, ours were the sox) Anyway, not a sports fan but have seen all of Cheers (and Simpsons too including the TR one).

Reviews? I watch our local movie guy but mainly watch older movies so I use IMDB and can usually decide with all contributors whether I’d like one. I’ve not written many reviews (mostly I have to feel strongly about it).@Griff, thanks for nudging my memory about that show. At that time I didn’t have anything like TiVo to do the “find and record” all new episodes of fav. shows so I may have missed some.
