Sluggo: That's plenty of spaghetti for my dinner with Nancy! But I have all this extra! I don't want to waste it! Haven't you ever seen spaghetti being hung up to dry so a fella can re-cook it before?
Good question! And I don’t THINK that Sluggo’s vegan or vegetarian… Oh well, I guess it’s conveniently juuuuuusst out of frame… -But I have found it interesting that there are some out there that like it without sauce, somewhere…. (I think they may use something other than tomato based sauces, if at all….) -But as an alternative to meatballs, may I suggest ground beef or turkey? I personally also like seafood in mine, or even turkey meatballs, or sometimes chunks o’ chicken….. uhh, excuse me… I’m kinda hungry, now….
The BBC once aired an April Fools documentary that showed spaghetti growing on trees. They were flooded with phone calls from people wanting to know where they could get spaghetti trees.
Seeing the spaghetti hanging up like that reminds of the famous spaghetti hoax. In 1957 the British program Panorama broadcast a segment detailing how spaghetti was grown and later harvested from spaghetti trees.
Despite the absurdity of the concept, many, many people believed that the story was true. Perhaps this reflected the fact that outside of Italy and those of Italian descent in most countries, spaghetti was not that well known a dish.
Once word spread of the mass confusion, the British station in question explained that the story was a hoax and were sure it was evident as the show was broadcast on April 1, 1957, April Fool’s Day.

I’ve seen spagetti farms. The plots are several hundred feet long. And about 4 inches wide…..

Fritzi’s Hispanic cousin has a sno-cone stand about a mile from me.
Really! Other than the hair, the resemblance is striking!

That’s her stand on the corner. Looks closed for the season, though.
