If memory serves from that C&H story where they took turns zapping each other, Calvin transformed Hobbes back into a tiger and Calvin got stuck as an owl until he was back to normal overnight. Hang in there, Liō!
Wow! This is just like an action movie! —Except when Lio is frozen _safe_ly by the Transmogrifier Gun. And where did Calvin acquire that nifty bit of weaponry?
He’s come a long way over the years. Earlier versions of the transmogrifier were a box you had to enter. Now he has portability in the form of a gun. Good job Calvin.
Always a good idea to return to classics. I actually got into Calvin & Hobbes after reading a XKCD comic reference. The one with the snow footprints, including “kid with transmogrifier”. That bought me into reading all the 10 years worth of it. Well worth the time.
I imagine that the transmogrifier gun itself would be rather easy to defeat- just hold up a mirror, and the ray would be reflected back onto Calvin. The gun is actually rather like the staff of Circe (read the Odessey by Homer for details), and rather a nice thing to have when confronted by anything. You could simply turn them into a speck of dust.
