Yeah, before my connection went away for awhile I was going to say I was glad I could be here tonight, cos the little monkeys are alone on Tuesday nights….
Oh… hi little monkey, I was just….…um… nothing, really…. yes, you’re doing fine…I know you do all quite well when I’m not here, honestly.
You wouldn’t be working here otherwise….it’s just that you’re…. uh…. …. so small…. and …such professional little bartenders, yes, of course.
Another fine invention from X.T.I.?That x_Tech knows what he’s doing!I really don’t have a cold… but it could be useful in some other situations…you know… music festivals….stores and theaters where there’s never any TP in the stalls….
And it’s just so darn attractive… who wouldn’t want to wear it everywhere?
Meanwhile… if you’re the head grinder operator….does that make me the 1st under-grinder operator ?
I know it’s early but… I am headed for the Tiki !I have had two carpenters in my small apartment installing ( or attempting to install ) baseboard around the place. My head is splitting from the screaming of the power saws and the incessant pounding. The place echoes at the quietest of times, so you can imagine what it is like at the moment. I have no idea when Tweedledee and Tweedledum are going to finish but I’m getting out of here. There’s no quiet on my galleon , The Irish Rover, because the lads are doing the annual summer overhaul. So the Tiki it is ! Maybe a cup of Monkey’s Mud will clear my head.
My dearest Beviek, I only wish I was the person you think I am. For surely there is no greater aspiration than shooflypie. Consider this; there is only one favor, only one shape and only one possible shoofly. There could never be another any more than Ballard Street could be anywhere else. I applaud your imaginable possibilities. I salute the sleuth. And I am flattered. But it is not so. Not in the stars or in the garages, not on the lawns or in the basements, not in the houses or on the sidewalks, not anywhere to be found. I remain humbly yours, Lefty 2…..
Yeah, my man knows the Morse code and we used to play with that and many other odd things in our younger days (I liked the signal flags) and invented secret codes. I remember that I was telling fortunes with Tarot cards and the I Ching, and we played with pyramids (he even contructed a huge pyramid over his bed).
We spent more time studying nutrition and when I started this vegan thing, I discovered that he has tried various tofu dishes and such when we were not hanging out (because I had not until now).
He works so hard (and plans to continue) so he takes very good care of himself.
@Ling, I had a neighbor do this floor (including sub floor and baseboards at 45<) and the adjoining bird room just straight. My floors on this level WERE carpet over concrete slab. All that was not so noisy and I did all the painting during that time. He kept power saws in the garage, so not much dust.
I just looked for photos of the floor and wall. I have no really up-to-date ones in my Flickr, this shows the room with a ceiling fan (replaced with 2 chandeliers in corners) and a metal screen which covered my old computer corner. China cabinet is still there and more of the handhooked flower rugs. Floor and my wall painting show OK and even my stained glass panel. At the other end, it goes up to the kitchen and another neighbor did my red marble tile in the powder room and the stairs.
Don’t forgot Blue Oyster CultDr. Music from Mirrors. Least popular album they made. I thought it was great. My favorite is In Thee“Well I’ll wrap myself in cities I travel,I’ll wrap myself in dreams,I’ll wrap myself in solitude,But I wish I could wrap myself,In thee.”
I’m not drinking right now either, but sipped a pot of tea just now while out in the pool doing a cool off. @Monkey, the glitter drink sounds interesting; If I were to have something exotic and glittery, I’d mix some Goldwasser with Cointreau and Corvoisier. I can taste that right now (in my imagination) although I have all of them in the pantry.
I may get to bed early tonight since everyone is leaving. I know my man will not Skype tonight as he’s been terribly busy in his work. Wish I could be there to make his hot chocolate when he gets home.
HEY BALLADEERS! Just wanted to drop by and say HELLO and save me a good drink and a good sandwich of some sort at the TIKI BAR! Been a busy week with a LOT of annoyances but hopefully, things will get back to normal sooner than later! GOOD NIGHT ALL YOU BS’ers! LOL!
Susan , saw your comment from before, :-), I would bet, I am a bit older than you Lady, at least by a couple months or years, I will be 60 in Dec. Oh where do the years go???? I don’t feel old, but I am. I guess. </

Look! I’m here!
Don’t know how, or for how long…
but suddenly my phone line is working, though it’s not supposed to be repaired till tomorrow.
It seems to come and go, though…. if I disappear you’ll know it went.

Actually this reminds me of some old friends….I just realised they were Ballard Street prototypes….
Married young as soon as he came home from WWII…She’d been a high school girl when he left…
Always adored each other…. she admired all his strange hobbies.
He didn’t do signal lamps but in the 1970’s still had a home made telegraph…..
She’d sit across the table, eyes wide, waiting raptly for his translations from Morse code of his chats with his far flung pals.
When I visited, occasionally she’d say “Oh this is a good night to be here…. Chuck is going to telegraph tonight!”
