Parrots (like most pet animals) learn their manners from those who raise them. They also are very predictably sized and don’t have additional growth with age. So even tho’ a giant parrot is funny for the ‘toon there is only one (Hyacinth McCaw) who is physically much larger than other breeds. They are really gentle sweethearts.
Even pitbulls have been raised to be gentle by some people. Don’t blame the pets.

Yeah, the stupid pet store promised him this would be a 20 foot high parrot, and this is as tall as it got.
