Impossible. Rover would never sacrifice some bacon for the trap, so this couldn’t happen.

I agree with Mark056. No basis is reality at all. There is no pooch on this planet who would give up actual bacon in the hand for potential cat fritters.

Unless…..that dog was a vegan, in which case the dog would not be interested in cat fritters. Its motivation could only be cruelty…..That would mean it was an evil-minded, sociopathic, vegan dog. Nah…. outside of chihuahuas there are no such creatures.

Hence, it must be the cats are setting the dog up. But that would mean the cats are evil-minded, sociopaths….. Oh…right.

The cats are setting up the dog. None of them have opposable thumbs so this is all just humor anyway.

The cats are absolutely setting up the dog…. they’ve led him to think he’s spying on them, by talking loudly so he’ll “overhear”.

Reminds me of a Far Side comic of a cat reading a crudely printed sign on an open clothes dryer door reading “Cat Fud” with an arrow pointing inside. The dog is thinking to himself.“oh please oh please”.
