A healthy dose of penicillin took care of my blossom-end rot.

It is caused by a calcium deficiency. Use powdered lime in soil. There is a spray that you spray on the plant but I have not used it.

A time of drought followed by a lot of rain also causes blossom end rot. Also general overwatering can cause it too.

Down at the 4H camp in Pensacola I saw some pretty spiraling flowers on the grasses in the lot where we parked.I brought a few home to ask my brother-in-law what they were. (foresters should know all things botanical)He checked and found they are a form not of grass but of orchid.I noticed last week that I have some in my front yard so all is well.
