I’m not sure I get this. Is she saying that if you call it an earthquake a tornado will never have hit the school?

I remember as a kid doing tornado drills – going into the windowless cloak room and sitting cross-legged facing the wall with our heads bent down and our hands over our heads. Ah, good times.
