If you know the story, even Don Draper doesn’t have Don Draper. (I loved the line in one episode where Don asks a photographer how he should pose for a picture and the photographer says “Just be yourself”. Superb writing.)
I don’t have the right programming to watch that show. I don’t think I am missing anything life-changing. …I really don’t want to go back in time to when people were told they could only do things that were either ‘manly’ or ‘womanly.’
@TSR… I’ll give you that. I’d go back to being a kid in the 60’s. I don’t remember any of the bad stuff that went on because I was too young. Being a kid was great back then.…But as an adult male reviled for being in the military, or a woman who was told she had no business in a particular field in the workforce? No thanks.…Each era has good and bad. Right now there seems to be a lot of ‘bad’, and I do think that the ‘information age’ has scarred us, even as it gives us access to other parts of the globe at a moment’s notice. There was always strife before, though we didn’t know to what extent. Media has allowed us to view the world and all it’s warts. I believe that this has actually hardened us as individuals, and I don’t think that’s a good thing, in the long run. …Many people now look at the world with a jaundiced eye. And that’s too bad. There’s a lot of good stuff out there. We just have to remember to look for it. And not make fun of the ones who do look for it.

I don’t even see Pete

Dana was just making a fast observational comment. And not having a Don Draper may be a good thing.

My dad was actually an ad man in the 60s. I had no idea this stuff was going on. :)

In the 60’s, Rita probably wouldn’t be a Veep. That wouldn’t be so bad.

Rita has a great expression in the second panel. Even she is seeing the “problem” that Dana is pointing out!

I don’t see any Don Draper types, but I do see a lot of John “hams”.

Why don’t you ‘POOF’ one of them into Don Draper then?
