Red: Giving out homework with only a few days of school left is just wrong.
Rover: If you were the teacher, how would you do thing's differently? Definitely no homework. I'd switch the remaining class curriculum to a Summer vacation prep course.

A summer vacation prep course would have great homework assignments—swimming, ball games, and relaxing with the ever-faithful Rover!

I’d say what happened here was indeed a summer vacation perp course for the last week – sport days, excursions…

And then a week before school starts the teacher could stop by and give a back to school prep course.

You should be studying for the finals, Red. The fun doesn’t begin until they are finally over.

Had an eighth grade science teacher who always gave his final the last day of school..

My 4th grader had a Market Day in the last week, where she had to make a bunch of things to “sell” to her classmates. Running around to get supplies was not exactly what I wanted to be doing at the end of school, and she had to stay up late to make her things too. I was annoyed about that.

If I was a teacher, I would divide up the class into two teams and give them questions on all the subjects, (in the fashion of Trivia Quiz) to see how much they really learned. Do this all the last week and see how many points they can gather. But I would make sure that all the kids got a chance to answer questions so no one is skipped.
