I fear I’m going to have to scrap my own car, a ‘92 cougar. It was my first nice car. Now she’s unfixable. In memory of “Nadine” 1992-2013

I know everyone has probably gone home to sleep….sigh…but I’m finally back on Ballard Street, putting away the evening’s haul of farmer’s market produce in the salon kitchen.

Bev! Don’t forget to stop by on your way out of town…. The basket that says “Beviek” is for you to take on your trip.

Well… duh. I guess it wouldn’t be the basket labelled “Stel,” would it.There’s also a big basket of tomatoes to bring to the Tiki… but I’m not sure I can carry it tonight.I’ll bring it tomorrow when Elvis is rested and I don’t have to walk.

    Sorry about the car, Brian.

I get very attached to mine.

Actually, I was a late-bloomer when it comes to driving…. though it’s now been…. hmmmm…. I think 26 years….and in all that time, I’ve only owned three cars. The only cars in my life that were my very own.

The first was the “newest” when I got it….10 years old then, and I drove it another 15…. so you can see how I hang on to old cars!

Meanwhile, yes, I could use more than just a bit of detailing myself….

    A tune-up for sure!New tires and u-joints would help… tie rods…. rear suspension…..

I know I’ve lost a lot of my original paint, too, but I don’t really want to do very much to replace it.

As for the rust…. it’s funny Ted thinks about that, cos I’ve always joked to my clientsthat it’s funny how we don’t seem to get any grey hair as we get older… apparently we rust.

    :)

I have a one-year old Cruze and an eleven-year old Cavalier. Guess which one I prefer to drive.

Ted should get together with Broom Hilda today. They can compare rust spots (or body piercings as BH prefers).

I’ve never been attached to a car (but only learned to drive after my divorce) and I’ve never enjoyed driving- prefer to just ride and enjoy the scenery.

Today I’m making a double batch of my bean salad. I hand selected all the string beans and will cook them later. Soaked the others yesterday and just fired them up this morning with bay and salt. Saturday’s Fabric War (all day swap meet) is a potluck event and I have 2 laundry baskets full of fabric I hope to sell/swap. At the end there is a melee for any that you just don’t want to take home FUN!

So even Ballard Street has a salt problem. They should switch to magnesium chloride instead of rock salt. Fewer rust issues. What he needs to do is soup up that ride a little. 24 inch spinner rims, raise it up, new paint like screaming pink and purple, monster sub woofers to blast out the polka music, get some fly girls to bling it out. He would be rolling now and I mean rolling. The Ballard Street Car Kings.

Ted always was a little flaky. It must be because he lived most of his life in the Rust Belt and like his car, he knows his warrantee has expired.

Brillo (just for metal); pumice or other sanding for bodies. Medium grit feels very nice in the arch of the foot – mmm!

Ted was born in 1946, a boomer in every respect. His mantra, I would rather burn out than rust out….so what happen?

I love that the cockatoo was mentioned among our animal friends (and she would too) she always showed more affection to people whom she heard speaking of her beauty and intelligence.

As to rusty, I don’t plan to be and I’m partial to the platinum gray tone that my hair has acquired quite on its own (good thing since I can’t afford salons). I cut it with my good sewing scissors (because I didn’t save the ones I use to use on my boys). I have very pale skin even with the Touch and Glow I recently applied to my arms.

In 1946 I’d have been in 3rd grade and my brother (now gone) would have been 3 YO. This morning was the anniversary of Cuddles passing (now 5 years) and that was the most painful loss to me. Death for my parents was a blessing as they were both very ill for a while before and my brother mattered to no one (not even to his girlfriend who dumped him in a Wisconsin nursing home before returning to IL). He stole and cheated clients and family alike.

Quick drive by, I hope you all have a good night/day where ever you all are. And as we say at MOTEL 6, KEEP THE LIGHT ON, AND THE TIKI BAR FULL!

@Grog,They are just lanterns with a tiny bulb inside (I believe Stel showed them very well). Munkey turns on the brights only at cleanup time (when everyone is gone).

They do need the brights to be sure the grinder and glassware are all brilliant and sparkley clean!

Agreed, Dazz, but having the brights on wouldn’t keep the Tiki full. It would be a sign that last call has come and gone.

Fellow Baby I can’t help it! !!I LOVE THAT COMMERCIAL! One of two or three! The mans voice is a real winner

And if you are taking a cab home, be sure the cabbie doesn’t have this attitude driving you home One thing about being a cabbie is that you don’t have to worry about being fired from a good job.

    Good night Buddy!
