yeah, right abacus-breath. you see, i can count past five!

I remember a huge argument with a friend, in about 4th grade, over whether you’re supposed to make 4 marks and a diagonal fifth one, as in this cartoon….

Or make 5 marks and then just tie them together with an uncounted diagonal.

I guess grade school and prison are both places where the lack of pressing real-world distractions allows time for silly procedural arguments.

I tend to run the diagonal the other way. It’s more natural for me.

So he was a blogger? Is that why he’s in jail? I’ve always did 4+diagnal.
