Alice would be a charming queen! But maybe a little harsh regarding the “off with their heads” thing…. I guess Democracy will survive one more 4th of July parade.

Careful what you wish for Alice… Queen of 4th of July probably wears an itchy dress.

You know? I think I could work with Queen Michelle. That woman has bigger stones than most of the idiots that make up the Elite in DC.

We don’t live in a democracy. We live in a republic. Look it up.

Uh, they’re having the parade on “Friday” which would be July 5, since today is Tuesday, July 2? May not be too many people showing up.

England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Canada, New Zealand, etc. have a queen, and all are democracies.

I knew someone would bring up the republic thing. We live in a democratic constitutional republic.

Well, you could always be the Goddess of Demcracy; but then you’d have to be destroyed afterward by an authoritarian regime…

@ elizjs: Those are all Parliamentary democracies within a larger Monarchical/Parliamentary Commonwealth. (They all have Nationally and locally elected heads of government, but the Queen is Head of State with her interests usually represented either through the British Embassy or an appointed Governer General.)
