It’s a bit of a shame that Schulz stopped drawing Patty, Violet and Frieda in the background of baseball-themed strips after they ceased to be even minor characters in Peanuts; that way, when drawing strips related to baseball in the 80s and 90s, Schulz would only ever draw Charlie Brown, Lucy, Snoopy, Schroeder, and Linus, and you’d be forgiven for thinking that there were only five players on Charlie Brown’s baseball team! :)

Dodging line drives? You’re supposed to get your glove up there and catch them.

Actually, though, I have seen pitchers do quite some moving to dodge a ball. Not just line drives; I’ve seen them duck when the catcher was trying to catch a thief at second.

Without the eyepatch, parrot, and hook for an arm. Lol

When was he ever able to dodge anything?

Charlie Brown isn’t THAT old, but he should still go to the hospital.

I have a lot of respect for a kid that can so adroitly dodge a line drive that he slips right out of his clothes!
