Let’s see…On the mac use Command + D +ALtShift +estroy ReturnSet the timer for 3 mins and exit the building.Oh and make sure you take your pets and tomatoes with you.
I suppose using a crazy OS that does things A**backerwards of everything I know and a tiny keyboard with some of the stuff I use all the time missing is good practice for when I have to get Win8.
Meanwhile I wish I’d had a chance to paddle this Mac around in shallow water, before they drove off and left me in the deep end.“Oh…” says she… “Everything on a Mac is so intuitive. You’ll figure it all out in NO time.”
Ahhhhh! The calm before the white water rapids. He did forget his helmet and life jacket. I wonder if there is a life guard nearby? If his butt gets wets there can only be two reasons. One the boat leaks. Two Ken leaked from excitement.
Thank goodness, Ken’s faithful Labrador Lucky Luciano is standing by ready to rescue Ken, should anything go amiss.Mornin’ Ballardeers !Missed a lot of yesterday do to power outages and surges which had the internet screwed up, took out the satellite T.V. for the entire building ( and the T.V.’s ) and blew the microwave and a kitchen light in my little patch of Paradise. I repaired myself to the Tiki with my Galaxy 2 tablet and reread Moby Dick ( what else ? ) whilst enjoying my favorite Redbreast Irish and yak ribs. I was tuned out of the goings and comings yesterday. I shall have to go back and see what I missed.Surprise inspection on my galleon, The Irish Rover, this morning ( Got to keep the crew on their toes ) and then I shall be returning to see what is afoot at the Tiki. Cheers, mates.
I just went back. Glad to see that one gone. I don’t think I saw a post at BS but flagged somewhere else for an earlier post. I hardly ever have flagged anyone but he/she was simply begging. I hope that Xtech is wrong and they know the proper source code to eliminate.
@Pcolli, my sculpture in current case does NOT include welding – just Sculpy clay to bake in the oven, and I will not be able to post more about it without getting myself in trouble .
Veteran sad today. I am now the oldest Trooper in Region 1. My buddy “Rex” Akin died June 29 suddenly.37 years on. Ex Viet Nam vet. Original Green Beret service. My friend. I now take on the mantel of the “Old Vet” in the district.RIP friend. See you on the other side.I am listening to Tommy (The WHO 1969) we both liked the album and The WHO.
Life jacket? Life jacket? Ken’s wearing a Type III float coat personal flotation device and if you read your federal regs you’ll see even the Coasties approve
Bought a tee shirt at the Smithsonian on a field trip as a “Room Mother” during one of my sons Field Day Trips to there. It was just Rosie and the slogan, “We Can Do It”. My mother was a LT. in the Army Nurse Corps during WW2. I saw that t shirt and I had to have it. Didn’t see any for the Nurses, but this was good, too. The women really did a LOT during that war.
@ Veteran, Mom always said the Nurses never got enough credit for what they did during the war. She took care of fellow nurses that came out of Corregidor. She never talked about it too much. It made her too sad.
I am sorry for your loss.
Then this book came out “Angels of Mercy” by Betsy Kuhn, about the nurses who served in WW2. My youngest bought the book for the school library and dedicated it to my mom. She was SO PLEASED!
And on a LIGHTER NOTE, I see Stel has changed her avatar to Oscar and Wilde. Where is NUMBER SIX. That will send his spinning head into overtime, LOL! :-D

The first thing they do in kayak school is flip you over so you can learn how to right yourself. That water is deeper than it looks.

Bev….. You should know I would have saved you a pie.
It’s in the salon kitchen er… shhh… the secret hiding place…
Where monkeys don’t take ies….if they know what’s good for them.

PIES.
Of COURSE I didn’t copy before posting, just this time… such a difficult keyboard.
SusanSunshine Premium Member over 11 years ago
Ken’s a nice guy but I always knew he didn’t have both oars in the water.
(Luckily, on Ballard Street, that’s quite acceptable)
SusanSunshine Premium Member over 11 years ago
Aw,,, thanks, Bev.
I didn’t know when I was told I could use the computer while I’m here that she would have a Mac.
These days there’s more similarity than there used to be…..
But a few things I haven’t figured out.
Delete is backspace…anybody know if there’s a way to delete forward by now?
Or select all?The keyboard is metal, maybe 5″ × 11″ …. with an odd feel to it.
When I want to scroll a window, I can’t… then it suddenly scrolls on its own.

OK…. command A, not control A….
Got it.

And Susan, if you have both blades of a double bladed kayak paddle in the water then you’re already in trouble.
SusanSunshine Premium Member over 11 years ago
Gee, thanks, X!
That might delete a little farther forward than I had in mind….
But it IS tempting…..

And as for the last…. aren’t we all, anyway?

I love that they’re trying to figure out how to make it look and act more like Win 7…
Seems they forgot that people have to use it.
