Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson for June 25, 2013
Transcript:
Marigold: Loveliness camp was amazing, I was surrounded by mirrors, and lovely clothes, as soothing music played. People would come in looking ordinary, and leave looking lovelier! All with the aid of courtiers in blue vests and nametags. Phoebe: You might just have stared at yourself in a department store for a week. Marigold: There was a small of mothballs, and of large pretzels.

So what was Marigold doing in Woolworth’s?

Marigold, only you could have that adventure. Also Marigold’s age is connected to the age of the existence of department stores with vests and mirrors and name tags.now we can try and figure out when she was young. Still can’t say how long unicorns remain young after being born but we can finally build a small bar on her time line.
Also Shield of boringness must be strong to have people ignore a UNICORN in a department store for a week. Unless people just assumed she was a display piece.

They thought she was just another clothes horse.

The large pretzels suggests Macy’s in NYC. It must have been one of those angled mirrors that reflect every side and angle into infinity.

That explains where she got the Lone Ranger costume.

The mothballs suggest Woolworth’s. We don’t know how old Marigold is.

If it was in a department store, then “loveliness camp” would have had to have happened recently from Marigold’s perspective. The impression I have is that her age could be measured in centuries or possibly millenia.

Keep in mind, time means nothing to an immortal – so Marigold’s memory of being a ‘filly’ can’t be trusted, either. For her, a century might be like a day for us – but she still as so many memories, they’re bound to be a little mixed up.

Courtier describes old House of Dior. Did take over a week for custom fit after viewing the single original on runway..No idea about modern haute couture. Remember the Dianna wedding dress had knock offs on street of NY within a day.

Marigold’s statement yesterday of “I used to attend,” seems to indicate having attended Loveliness Camp more than once.
