Minor point, though:Boxing is actually more dangerous with gloves. In bare-knuckle boxing, you can’t really punch someone in the face or head much, because the odds are your fingers will break before their face does in any significant way. As a result, they usually just beat each others’ chests and arms, resulting in a grand total of about two deaths in a hundred years of recorded bare-knuckle boxing. Gloves protect the hands and allow harder hits in addition to face/head contact, and generally contributes to five deaths per year in the US.So actually, the bare-knuckle boxer is handicapping himself and endangering his own life.
