Now just introduce Nelson to Calvin—he may not eat it, but would love to squish it.

I bet Nelson would eat pumpkin pie . Pumpkin is a member of the squish family. Depends on how you prepare your squish……..Earl just corrected me “Squash”

I don’t think calling it by it’s ‘correct’ name is going to change the bitter taste or disgusting texture.

Grandma is getting “Edible” confused with “Good to Eat”. There is a difference, and Squash doesn’t belong in the second category.

Butternut squash is excellent in savoury winter soups, pureed and well seasoned.I grew up around people who thought it was “amusing” to call it “squish.” It wasn’t.

Some people have bitterness sensitivity. Those people can taste bitter on a flat rock. The rest of us like squash. Shredded spaghetti squash can even substitute for enriched carbohydrates, like pasta. Brussle sprouts baked with olive oil and herbs are one of my favorites.
