What a full day Sunday was. I am so glad to be here.
@DRY The news about Brewster is wonderful. I hate it that the costs are going to be exorbitant but we are to be stewards of the earth. That is especially true for our critters.
I was thinking for a few days that the three stooges had learned how to tickle a funny bone. Sadly, it was just the flare of a bulb burning out. I hope MikeyJ and ChalkieJ can continue with their efforts. Buggerlugs hit the nail solidly on the head with his Pogo. Well done, Sir.
Glad to see Beviek is back. It just isn’t right when the crew is incomplete.
Thanks again, Bugger !Love the art style of Pogo...Hi, Dry !Glad to hear some good news for a change.I see where you’re coming from re Chris, family pets and creatures with “no next of kin” as it were.
What Number Six said about a sign.. if you post an address, even a work address, I would chip in a few bucks for Brewster. I guess you could call it a :Buckies For Brewstercampaign. Lottsa little bits add up to enough to at least reduce the financial sting some. Good, and happy to know there is a place that can do the med work the little guy needs to get him back up and running. What kind of pup is he ? Don’t remember if you had said before.
Sounds like a fenced area is in order and the bottom, at the ground, should be to where he can’t tunnel. Stones or coarse fencing strips on the ground or some such should prevent digging.-As a kid, I remember how my friend’s older sister’s Scotty dog would find a choice area along the chain link fence and dig out just enough dirt to get himself under and out in order to go find “girlfriends”. Don and I would ride our bikes halfway or more across the neighborhood to fetch the li’l horndog home. - He never got hit, but some years before they had a months old Golden mix who got out and was hit up on the main road nearby. The animal hospital might have been able to save him but the mounting bills were a bit beyond a widow on social security with three boys living at home. The oldest had a job and the second was on his way into one, so, the situation wasn’t dire, just on a thin margin. I felt bad that as about a thirteen year old I didn’t have money to help that situation. The dog, Buffy, was as much my pal as Donny’s; their house was straight across the street from ours and was becoming a home away from home of sorts.
I remember you mentioning ‘Charlie Girl’ before and you had her as your Avatar didn’t you? Unless I’m thinking of another pet you had. I prefer dogs a lot more than cats. I don’t dislike cats but I’ve always preferred dogs.
I really enjoyed your story about her leaping up onto the table and eating the easter chocolates. Did anyone have their video cameras out at the time? LOL.
As for Brewster – GREAT NEWS! I’m so happy for you all. I know he’s not fully recovered yet but he’s getting there isn’t he?
Us Cappers still have our fingers and toes crossed.
Gweedo Murray said (via Chalkie J), about 20 hours agoThank you, # Three ! ………. and you’re welcome !I wont know about my aunt until next we talk. She’s not online as much as she used to and that goes for the phone too, although she talks to the ones she knows best to let us know where she is at and yes, I think our time “over the wire” helped get her mind off herself a bit even though that was a main topic. -I will be going to the hardware for those lights after I put this down. I painted the window trim earlier, two coats and am looking at improving the shower curtain in that bathroom.-Having a slow day here. Hottish but bearable.________________________________________________
You’re welcome too. Eileen is still in my thoughts.-Strangely enough… When I’m not feeling well whether it’s Hay Fever, Cold and other things. I like to be on my own for ages. I just like my own company.
But I know I can talk to someone if I need company. GoComics or real life.-Did you get the lights? If you did then that’s cool.
That’s about the best news possible, relatively; super!
. . . bringing One up-to-speed on the *Bo Diddley Ballet* Audio Only; sorry! One just has to imagine the blue Sky, Mona, Arlene, an Ice-wagon flying down a dark Alley, the Rattlesnake Whip,Tombstone Hand, Graveyard Mine, Cobra-snake Necktie, a brand new House on the roadside made from Rattlesnake Hide with a matching brand new Chimney made out of a human Skull [and the One built nextdoor], TuTu’s, Tights, roaring Greasepaint, the smelly Hippy crowd etc., and riding a lion to Towne.
. . . . now walking the 47 mile of barbed Wire was an illusion right along; local Union said it was a hazard, etc. It was always just implied, anyways. so no claim to ‘authenticity’ there.
For those who have an interest in little Brewster’s story, I posted this at Citizen Dog:
Thanks everyone for all your kind words. Really, it was my neighbors dog, and we did what we had to do, unlike the RB that hit a little 8 lb dog and drove off. AND BELIEIVE ME, they KNEW they hit. If I could hear a little tiny dog being hit from inside my living room next door? Brewster did not have to go to Pittsburgh after all. A local vet was able to put a pin in his one leg, the worst one, and the other will be done later on. He is due to come home tmr. if all goes well, and then go back later for the rest of the surgery.
Shi! happens and you do what ya’ gotta do, even if you don’t expect to be doing it, you know?
Good night good morning, wherever you are! For me, it’s goodnight. :-)

Number Three, Brewster has some major bone surgery ahead of him, but they say as small as he is and as young, he should recover nicely.
