Good thing I wasn’t in the neighborhood. I’d a put a paper bag of dog scat on the new mat, set it on fire, rung the bell and ran like the devil.I’m not sayin’ that Leaky and I ever did this, but we knew kids that did.
They need a new top-step front stoop mat to save the new front stoop door mat from muddy boot prints.
But then they’d need to put the old front stoop door mat on the bottom step….that would be the first step in saving the new top step front stoop mat from those muddy boot prints….
My PC froze up today too (windows said that site caused problems) and I was in the midst of writing a comment on Daddy’s Home (I always try to answer Tony’s question).
So who has been there to visit since they got the new door mat, Dale, Jerry or Verl? None of them would bother with the sidewalk. Oh forget Jerry, he wouldn’t bother to wipe his shoes off.
Or was this an observant neighbor who spotted the new door mat and snuck in and messed it up? Maybe the neighbor on the down wind side of Burl’s bathroom power wall fan, or how about the one he gave shriveled tomatoes to a couple weeks ago.
Never mind the door mat, isn’t it hard to park a car on the edge of the grass like that? Without it falling off? Maybe whoever got their shoes muddy fell out the car door and had to climb back up to the edge.
Thank you, Toenails!I ironed it this morning and it seems OK.
BTW, I always hope rOdd Perry doesn’t mind the alterations I make to his beautiful drawing when I’m having fun with it….I asked him, but he never answered.I’ll always be grateful to him for creating it.
KindnessM…. hard to believe, but I use that word here quite a bit, and I posted almost the same thing about its derivation, probably over a year ago….maybe two….
And ever since then, I think it’s been Mikie’s favorite word….. I think if you say it often enough, you might have a friend…..right, Mikie?LOL!
Imnormal…. there seems to be quite a crowd in the living room, actually….Might be a Christmas party, since Julie pays little attention to chronology, when she chooses panels to rework….(Not that I care either… I’m just glad to get them.)
They look almost ghostlike… I’d think it might be spirits of Christmas past, come to point out Burl and Joy’s self-serving behavior….but I don’t think ectoplasmic footprints would have muddied the doormat.
I just went to water store and now must make supper. Tomorrow early must go to buy new motor for pool pump (I’ll drive across town to save a couple hundred). Amazon had it, but their “overnight” delivery would have meant arrival on 8-5 at earliest, because it is not THEIR store.
I complained to their customer service for wasting my time ordering with 1 day delivery when it is NOT!

Yeah, why wipe your muddy shoes on the mat when you could wipe ‘em on Burl’s face?

Looks like they have company, Joy is such a good hostess sitting in her pretty chair. I guess Burl will have them wash off their muddy prints???

You’re lucky Burl. They might have used your face as a door mat.

Maybe Burl should check his shoes.

or better yet, a door mat on top of the door mat so the door mat doesn’tget….oh ugh.

I guess they want them to take off their shoes so they can leave with black socks regardless of what color they wore.
