I love how Mom is completely unfazed. She’s heard it all before…

If your plan is to get many students/kids to commit suicide… it’ll work!

I live on a small island and despite regular holiday seasons, even that’s not enough to relief the tension built-up everyday in school and there’s a lot of the stress with grades/expectations to keep up. Adding holiday assignments doesn’t help either, not to mention facing the Class/School bully EVERYDAY!

    There’s an web-article at…http://sg.theasianparent.com/singapore_children_suicide_depression/

Now apply that to larger countries and see how well that “School should be year round with 3 three week breaks or 4 two week breaks during the year.” is working out for you.

Japan has year-round school with a month long break in the summer, a short break between Christmas and New Years, and a ten day break in spring during Golden Week. Japanese students routinely score higher on tests than US kids. They also have a much higher suicide rate. That’s a pretty severe tradeoff.
