Her eyes are like almonds, her complexion.. like a peach. Her cheeks are red like apples and her lips are red like cherries. She has an especially nice pair.

Give me a break, right here.

Sounds like Burl is implying Joy was pear shaped when they met? I have never seen any of them any where near pear shaped. Being smart isn’t everything?? Maybe they think unintelligent is a bliss? Wearing girdles ?? Does he think it would make him barrel chested so men would think he is average? Well none of them are average so that won’t work….

Well Dale was given his dunce hat when he graduated 8th grade, and to say Burl was an average student would certainly lower the boundaries of average. I am thinking they were social promotions and so the ‘girls’ are not just barrel chested they are just plain barrels. Jerry must be stupid also.

    Hey BURL… you were not average…. Remember you repeated a grade…. that’s why you are a year younger than DALE….. ! ! !

I can’t imagine why these people would bother discussing their shape, since they so obviously eat the least healthy things and do no exercise whatsoever.

I was saving tops from V8 for some neighbor kids (because their school can get supplies from V8 and Ziploc products. I have occasional ones from Ziploc, but drink V8 daily (the kids have not been around lately – probably in their pool) about 1/2 the homes here have pools I only spend time outside in front in winter. I continue to save the tops as one of my teacher friends could use them if the kids don’t. The milk I currently buy is soy and almond (tiny tops)

The last time either of them saw a pear was last week when they made a cobbler (and ate it all in one sitting). One of the old Masters would have painted this scene and titled it “4 dummies at table”

But I haven’t seen one in about 35 years…. and even then, they were from the only dairy around here to still deliver unhomogenised milk in glass bottles…. organic and exorbitantly priced.

What I’ve been trying to remember is where the paper rings came from…I thought it was milk bottles …that elderly ladies crocheted around and joined together to make table mats.

The caps that covered the milk tops I remember were thinner paper, and didn’t have holes.
