Is Nate going to the 7th grade? Because I find it strange for him to know his teacher before going to middle school.

This somehow reminds me of Strickland from Back To the Future.

See the irony in panel 3?: Nate actually wrote something Godfrey actually says rather often, in her attempts to HELP Nate, not hurt him. IF only he’d even write down the homework assignment, IF only he’d even bother to open the book, IF only he’d come even remotely prepared for any and all pop quizzes, oh IFONLYIFONLYIF!!

On the other hand, Fran’nTed have the right idea in panel 1: play out those lazy, hazy, crazy last few precious days of summer as if blissfully ignorant of the start of a new school year!! Chuckles! Chortles! Snickers! Laughs! Mirth! AND MERRIMENT!!
Skullmaster over 11 years ago
Well, he has shown potential in drawing, chess, being an idiot, angering others and getting Coach John to make him run those two extra laps.

Not sure which cartoon character in history has the biggest head-to-body ratio. Maybe Charlie Brown? Stewie from “Family Guy”? At any rate, Nate’s not close to being the champ in this category.

He’s ready!

If Nate is like 4 foot 5 or four foot 7, isn’t every adult over 9 feet, since they are double his size?

Nate has potential. Teddy doesn’t.

One of the great things about this strip is the way it gets “guy friendships”. He does a great job getting how guys act and sound.

You know in grade school you never have the same home room teacher. I know that’s done because this is a comic strip.

Nate will NEVER pass sixth grade EVER I bet

Think of the cross Mrs. Godfrey has to bear. She has a bright student who won’t apply himself year after year. I’m thinking this is like the movie Groundhog Day. lol

Nate lives in a world where everyone stays the exact same age for their entire life.

It seems that everyone has huge feet… except me. I still wear a size four/five (older kids size) and I’m in 8th grade!
