Of course, in comics and on TV, we frequently see the character who loves school and gets great grades. But in real life, there can be an in between. I know at least one kid who professes to hate school, constantly begs for days off, and yet she gets tops grades in everything, and is enrolled in honors classes. She doesn’t want to be there, but won’t let herself do less than her best.
I had a pretty good time in grade school. It wasn’t until HS when the clothes your parents bought you became an issue. My “jobs” were doing things around the house (I painted the outside trim) and helped dad with repairs, took over cooking the meals in 7th grade.

some places they have year around school. something about summer brain drain, test scores, protecting kids, and childhood hunger and obesity.

With my ADHD I hated school as a kid. Then I got a university degree. I still have bad dreams about being back in school.

Nice colors and artwork. Reminds me somehow of Calvin & Hobbes landscapes.

I love seeing Sue having fun as a complete 110% kid.
